An Annual Tradition

This past Sunday we held our annual Christmas Bake Exchange.

By my calculations, this is the 9th bake exchange I’ve organized over the years. If you aren’t familiar with them, everyone bakes enough of one type of cookie for the bake exchange so that everyone gets one dozen of your cookies. In return, you receive one dozen of everyone else’s cookies… and your Christmas baking is done!

As I’ve been doing for the past few years, I made my signature Brandied Egg Nog cookies

We had 10 people participating this year so 10 dozen cookies for everyone!

These chocolate mice have made an appearance for a few years now. Are they not just so adorable (and tasty).

Everyone really gets into the spirit of the Christmas Bake Exchange and presents their cookies in adorable containers and bags.

So many tasty treats to enjoy! And of course, lots of other snacks and goodies. This year I brought a cheese tray. I’m obsessed with them and brought one that I put together after drooling over many pics on Pinterest.

This was Elliana’s second year at the bake exchange. Last year she slept through the entire afternoon. This year, not so much!! We have just had our first steps, by the way.

It was such an enjoyable afternoon but by the end, I have to say, I was feeling a little like Elliana was, too!

Do you do any special baking that involves family and friends at Christmas? What is your favourite Christmas cookie to make and bake?
