Oh my soul – how is it possible it’s been three years since the arrival of this sweetie?
This is my niece Nina and today she turns three! She is such a wonderful, happy, thoughtful girl. I love these photos her Mom took recently. Nina’s personality really shines through.
My husband Matt and I have so enjoyed being a part of Nina’s life. Her smile is contagious. She’s kind and sweet. She puts up with my singing in the car (and encourages me to sing more!). We’ve had baking dates together. And she’s sooo wonderful with animals. She’s often asking how Budders (Buster) and Baxter and Sebby are doing. She has even met the foster bassets we have had here and often asks about our most recent foster, Molly, from this past summer.
I was honoured to be able to help out on the day of these photos. And the dress… it’s from the ever versatile Geranium Dress pattern from Made-by-Rae. I don’t know what I’m going to do when she eventually, one day, down the road, outgrows the pattern sizes. Thankfully I have a few years before that happens (a few… but not many!).
And no one is ever allowed to make fun of my fabric stash anymore. As dresses were being considered for the shoot, I remembered this fabric I had picked up on a road trip to Wisconsin last spring. I didn’t have an intended project for it at the time but I figured likely something for Nina and/or Tess.
Well – voila! It was perfect for the gold theme of this photo shoot!
This birthday is going to turn into a three-post celebration. I’ll have one more post after this because I have to share the adorbs cupcakes Auntie Trintu (that’s me) got to make for Nina’s birthday lunch!
Oh – and a follow up from yesterday’s post. Someone seems to be enjoying her new quilt. This makes me smile so much! And now you can finally see the fabric on the back of the quilt. I realized I forgot to take photos of that.
Happy birthday, Nina! Can’t wait to see what this year will bring!!
