Another pair of socks are off the knitting needles and onto the sock blockers.
These were knitted up using the Hermione Everyday Socks pattern (free on raverly). The pattern is super easy to knit with it’s four row repeat pattern. I had some difficulty around the heel flap as it wasn’t turning out the way the photos showed (and I haven’t done enough socks to know my way around that well enough yet) but I just forged ahead and I’m quite happy with the way they turned out.
The yarn is a knitpicks sock yarn (wool/nylon blend) and very soft. And they were hand dyed by a local friend of mine who is just getting into dyeing yarn (I’m in a lot of trouble having someone this close who is dying up such fabulous yarn).
It was just enough variation to give a subtle boost to the textured pattern. I’m going to have a hard time giving these ones away as a gift!
Next up – I’m trying my hand at cable knitting. I’ve only ripped back my stitches four times on my current project. Ahhh… gotta love the learning curve!
