Minerva Dress Reveal

Today’s the day of the big Minerva Meet-up!

I can’t be there in person but I, along with my fellow Minerva Bloggers, made a special prom dress for the occasion.

Summer Dress @ willcookforshoes.caApparel sewing is so much fun. I love making my own dresses. I wear them a lot for work. Picking your own fabric and dress style is a great way to customize your wardrobe.

The fabric I picked – with help from Vicki at Minerva (thank you Vicki!! It’s always so great to exchange emails with you!) – is just perfect for this dress. The fabric pattern is a little out of my comfort zone (i.e. it’s not black or grey) but it’s so fun and summery.

My favourite part of the dress has to be the pleated neck line.

2014-06-13_0001This Burda pattern came together quite quickly!

PatternThis dress also has a little scarf that I’ll tell you more about in an upcoming post.
