Remember when I went to Hawaii and found out there was a Quilt Shop Hop happening while we were there. And we went to all nine stores, even though I was there in Hawaii… on my honeymoon…
I never got around to sharing all the wonderful fabrics and amazing stores I came across during that trek. OMG – that was so much fun! And I met so many great staff and shop owners – several whom I’m still in touch with via Facebook.
These photos were all taken a while ago but I think I’ve had to muster up the nerve to show ALL of this at one time.
Yup! It’s official.
I bought a lot of fabric. But these are great souvenirs/memories of the trip. Right?
So here they are in no particular order.
The middle fabric almost feels like a voile. So soft and flowy.
This was such a fun find! Little Red Riding Hood. Sweetcakes. More Little Red Riding Hood. Enchanted. All by Riley Blake.
I had to get some regional fabrics while I was there. Hoping to make a skirt out of the fabric on the far right. Nobu-15 by Kona Bay. Hawaii Print. Pua Aloha by Westminster. Pineapple Lei by Westminster.
And a fun little project kit that I already have plans to give away as a gift.
Gracie Girl. Ashbury Heights. Pop. All by Riley Blake. (I’m really loving Riley Blake!)
Far Out Floral. Always Blooming. Both by Hoffman. And of course I had to collect all the Quilt Shop Hop Squares!
A lovely stack of colour builders! And I couldn’t resist a few puppies, especially when one of them looks very basset-y. Pound Hounds by Sue Marsh.
Wrenly by Valori Wells for FreeSpirit! Hoping to make a nice flowly summer top out of this one.
Yup. Acacia. Tula Pink. (Had to!)My Mind’s Eye by Riley Blake. Sew Be It by Henry Glass. My Sunshine by Riley Blake.
Daisy Doodle Dandy by Michael Miller. Daisies and Dots by Robert Kaufmann. Grand Bizarre by Michael Miller.
I couldn’t resist a little pineapple pattern! I was in Hawaii, after all!
Little Folks by Anna Maria Horner. (OMG – this voile is to die for!)
Ruby by Dan Bennett. Heaven and Helsinki by Patty Young. Soul Blossoms by Amy Butler.
And finally (yes… there is an end to all of this!) Salt Water by Tula Pink.
As I went through all these photos, I found some I had even forgotten about!
Do you buy fabric (or fibre) when you travel? I hope someone can help me justify all this fabric-y goodness.
You got yourself some nice fabric! I don’t get to travel but when I venture out to a fabric store I’ve never been to, I like to find something to go home with me and help out a small business a little.
Yes! I completely agree, Melissa. I like to support the LQS as well!
yum! yes, I buy fabric on the road and I’m not embarrassed to say so.
Thanks for being such a great enabler, Brenda! 🙂
Beautiful fabrics! Looks like you had fun!
Verna – yes, I sure did!! 🙂
Last vacation I took, I bought fabric & yarn. 🙂
There maybe have been a purchase of roving on this trip as well. 😉
I love you did this on your honeymoon. Quite funny! Yes, I will buy a little something if I can find a quilt store when I travel.
I’m completely envious of your stash!! I bet you could play in it for days!
