Weekend Projects

Usually my weekends are pretty packed full – often some work spills over into Saturday and Sunday, and the boys have their multitude of training classes here and there, and of course there’s time with friends and family.

But I love to steal away a little time to work on a few projects. This weekend was no exception. I’ll post long updates on each of these individually, but I was so excited this weekend to spend a little time in these three areas:

1) Another Doe and Deer Belladone dress. I love this dress. I picked up this fabric last week at Marshalls and I knew right away it was perfect for this pattern.

2) I’ve been wanted to make some homemade bread for a while. I love the idea of using a dutch oven to make artisanal bread. I picked up spelt flour from Red River General Store (a favourite Sunday afternoon activity of mine is to take a little drive north of the city to go visit Monique the owner and see what’s new at her store). This bread is proofing right now. Tomorrow I’ll come home from work and bake it.

3) This isn’t too far along but I did manage to wash the fabric for another little Geranium dress. This dress will be used for a special little photo shoot. I can’t wait to see the final result.

What were you up to this weekend? Did you work on any projects? Read a good book? Or just kick back and relax?
