A tasty (gluten-free) snack



Saw this tasty treat while browsing pinterest one afternoon. This is my take on it. It’s super easy to make and comes together fast. I do recommend that you let this fully set up in the fridge. It’s worth the wait as the flavour of the chocolate and peanut butters fully meld together.

Here’s what you need:

4 1/2 cups of crispix cereal (plain or honey)
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
icing sugar (approx 1/4 cup) 


Place a sheet of parchment paper on a large baking sheet. 

Put crispix cereal into a large bowl. (I love that this cereal is gluten-free!)




In a microwave safe container, add chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter.

Chocolate and peanut butter. How could this be wrong?




Melt using 30 second intervals in the microwave until fully melted and combined. Mix in vanilla. Pour over crispix cereal. Mix well to combine fully.

Spread out over baking sheet.

Dust with icing sugar. Mix lightly. Dust again.




(The original recipe calls for putting the chocolate covered cereal in a large plastic ziploc bag, adding lots of powdered sugar and then shaking till combined. I’m really more about the chocolate than the sugar so I modified it so. I love the results.)
