Haiti – More than a year later

I had the privilege of being able to travel back to Haiti in mid-May. I was completely overwhelmed when I was there last October. Despite the fact that it had been nine months since the earthquake, it looked as though it had occurred just weeks prior.

During my recent travels there, it was wonderful to see that some progress has been made in the last six months but there is a long road ahead. Currently over 600,000 Haitians are still living in tent communities, cholera is a concern and land issues are a challenge.

The following are just some of the photos from my trip in May.

    Trina,

Thanx for sharing your experience and photos from Haiti.
We often forget that after the media attention dies down, people still suffer and there is much work left to be done.
    Thank-you for raising our awareness.

    Vida
