Well, this is something entirely new for me! I’ve been wanting to make one of these for a while but didn’t have a design in mind and wasn’t sure I knew the different calculations that were necessary.
This is a stole. A liturgical garment worn over the shoulders and that drapes down in front (for ordained ministers – and over one shoulder and across the front for diaconconal ministers, in our tradition).
The images on this particular one correspond to a theme for an event I was working on.
The design is original (and done in collaboration with a colleague of mine). The sewing was all done by me.
It was really interesting to make and I’d LOVE to make more.
The panel of colours on the left were sewn together with a 1/4 inch seam. All the other designs were sewing on with an appliqué stitch on my Janome Skyline S7.
What’s something you made that pushed you out of your comfort zone?
