Trina’s Fantastically Easy, Why Complicate a Good Thing, Gluten-Free, Plum Crisp


It’s mid-august and fresh fruit abounds! Strawberries, blueberries, cherries, plums and peaches – oh my! Given my gluten allergies, my go-to dessert is often fruit. But sometimes you just need a little some’n, some’n. Herein enters (say it with me) “Trina’s Fantastically Easy, Why Complicate a Good Thing, Gluten-Free, Plum Crisp!”


6-7 ripe plums (or peaches, or anything you want make into a crisp – get creative!)
1 tablespoon gluten-free flour
1 tablespoon agave nectar or honey (or sugar, if you’re in a pinch)
1 cup of gluten-free granola (I use a brand I get at Costco… note: if you have celiacs, please use a certified gluten-free brand)


Prehead over to 400 degrees.

Spray an 8 inch round baking dish, preferable one with a lid, with pam or oil. Cut up plums into thick slices and put into baking dish. No need to be fancy here!


Sprinkle plums with flour and honey/agave nectar and mix to combine. (Yes – do this in the baking dish… why dirty more dishes?!)


Spread the granola over top.


Place in the over for 25 minutes. It should start to bubble after that time. After 25 minutes, cover with lid or foil and bake for another 10 minutes. 

Let cool slightly and ENJOY! And of course, if you have have it – a little whipping cream or ice cream would be awesome with this recipe.
